Lots of sites make brushes for you to use in your graphics. But once you've found one you like, how do you make it a brush? Well that is what this tutorial will help you to do

For this tutorial I am using Paint Shop Pro X, if you have a different version of Paint Shop Pro it should still be pretty similar.

Firstly you need to pick a brush set that you like. You then need to copy it, and paste it into Paint Shop Pro (Ctrl + V). You then need to select your image:

You can do this by using the magic wand tool, which is highlighted in the above image. Then click on a bit of the white area, and then press Shift + Ctrl + i (This inverts the selection so that the image is selected instead of the white area around the image).

Now comes the most important bit. Once the brush is selected, click on the brush tool. Then click on the arrow that is next to your current brush, a little drop down box will pop up that looks like this:

In the bottom corner of this box there is a symbol that is highlighted in the above image. You need to select this. A little window will then pop up that looks like this:

Just name the brush whatever you like, click ok, and now the brush is ready to be used!

I hope this tutorial has been of use to you
